Explosive : Kevin Taylor Names Justice Kyei Baffour As NPP Hatchet Man

A can of worms has just been opened around Appeals Court judge, Justice Eric Kyei Baffuor, after freelance journalist, Ekow Taylor made revelations into his adjudication of the case involving former appointees in the erstwhile Mahama government at the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Mr. Tailor, using his “With All Due Respect” video blogging platform, has revealed that Justice Kyei Baffour is a government hatchet man on a mission to jail the defendants in the case by hook or crook.

According to Ekow Taylor, the judge with clear leanings towards the ruling party wants to redeem its image prove accusations of corruption against ex-President Mahama’s appointees.

Justice Kyei Baffour is also bending the law to have the accused found guilty because of a mission to help National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah, get revenge on one of the accused whom he suspects of sleeping with his girlfriend.

According to Ekow Taylor, Kan Dapaah feels deceived by a woman with whom he has kids, and believes that the children were in reality fathered by Eugene Baffoe-Bonnie, former Board Chairman of the NCA.

Baffoe-Bonnie is facing charges of causing financial loss to the State in the case that also involves William Tetteh Tevie, former Director-General NCA, Nana Owusu Ensaw, former Board member, Alhaji Salifu Mimina Osman, former Deputy National Security Coordinator, and Mr. George Oppong.

They are accused of causing financial loss of US$4million to the State over the purchase of surveillance equipment for the NCA. Ensaw, was in addition charged with stealing and money laundering.

The accused in the past pled no case but Justice Kyei Baffour, the trial judge asked them to open their defense, saying the prosecution had proven a prima facie case. According to Ekow Taylor, Justice Eric Kyei Baffuor has long been on an agenda to find the accused guilty by hook or crook to make the NPP look good and also satisfy Kan Dapaah’s desire for revenge.

Calling the trial a scam, he demanded in his latest video that new Chief Justice, Anin Yeboah, open an enquiry into Kyei Baffuor and reassign the case to a different judge. Failure to do this, he said, would force him to release incriminating videos and audio recordings of the trial judge conferring with Kan Dapaah and other government officials on how he will do everything to ensure that the accused are found guilty.

“I can say on authority that Justice Eric Kyei Baffuor is operating on the orders of the President and Mr. Kan Dapaah this was the reason that the NCA case was jumped straight to the Commercial Court where Kyei Baffuor operates so that he will execute this government’s agenda.

“In the weeks to come, I will release audios and videos of Justice Eric Kyei Baffour interaction with these people on how Mr. Kan Dapaah wants to use the courts to settle personal issues between himself and one of the accused Baffoe-Bonnie. The National Security Minister and this Bonnie man are chasing the same lady,” Mr. Taylor stated.

“Kan Dapaah suspects that Bonnie is the real father of his kids with the lady. When the case started, Kan Dapaah showed serious interest because of the matter, and everyone knows that he was the man leading the prosecution and the man pulling the strings behind the scenes.”

According to him, Eric Kyei Baffuor is a strong pro-NPP judge whose promotion to the Appeals Court is questionable. In exchange for using the law to get at the opponents of the government, he insinuates that the man has suddenly become very powerful and rich with the Akufo-Addo government as his paymaster.

Ekow Taylor also alleges that Justice Eric Kyei Baffour has suddenly put up a mansion that has surprised many of his colleagues in the Judiciary. To have the former NDC appointees jailed in return, he alleged that the judge has been constantly in touch with President Akufo-Addo, Albert Kan Dapaah, and Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo.

Osafo Maafo, he claims, called Kyei Baffour on phone and told him to do everything he can to ensure that the accused are found guilty when the accused opened their defense.

Meanwhile, at the Attorney General’s Department, a niece of Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, who is coveting the position of the Director of Public Prosecutions, is also doing everything she can to impress the government into giving her that appointment.
