Potential NPP/NDC Clash Brews in Western Region

In what promises to be a potentially violent showdown,  the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western Regional Women’s Organiser, Abena Kwallah has declared the region as a ‘no-go area’ for campaigns for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) run-up to the 2020 general elections.

With its majority holding sway in the region currently, the NPP hopes to bulldoze the NDC out of the region. The Western Region currently has 13 seats for the NPP out of a total of 17 seats in the region. The NDC has the minority representation with only 4 constituencies under its control.

In an interview with the online news portal, MyNewsGh.com, Mrs. Kwallah said the region was a “no go area” for NDC in what has become a sort of slogan for the  2020 general elections as the NPP plans to snatch all the 17 seats in the region.

“The NDC must forget about the  2020 general elections because we are going to beat them and take their only four parliamentary seats and add to our thirteen seats to make seventeen. We are going to make Western Region a no-go-area for them and I am going to empower our women to work harder for the party in 2020”, she Women Organiser told the news portal.
