Kitchen Knife “Coupist” Dr. MacPalm Demands Certificates Of State’s Shady Witness

The first accused person in the supposed plot to overthrow the Akufo-Addo government is demanding further and better particulars from the State’s star witness, whose credibility has been put on the line.

Dr. Fredrick MacPalm is demanding that Staff Sergeant Kojo Sule Awarf, a murder suspect who has confessed to using forged certificates to enlist into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) make available his birth certificate, a certificate covering his change of name and a supposed Diploma from the Bechem Technical Institute.

According to Dr. MacPalm who has been accused of masterminding the coup plot, he needs the certificates to afford him the opportunity to confirm the credibility of Sergeant Awarf, who has turned out to be a rather dubious character who may be liable for charges bordering on lying under oath.

“…I require those documents to be able to test the credibility of PW3 before this honorable court,” Dr. MacPalm stated in his affidavit.

Staff Sergeant Sule Kwadwo/Kojo Awarf is the star witness in the case in which the Akufo-Addo government is claiming a medical doctor, had hired the services of a local blacksmith to manufacture weapons to be used to overthrow the government.

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah had detailed intelligence gathered from the coup plot, including the sophisticated move by the would-be coupists to buy tons of dry pepper from Agbogbloshie in Accra to be ground and used for bombs as part of the coup.

Many military intelligence and weapons experts have dismissed the government’s claim as preposterous, but the government has gone ahead to put the supposed coup plotters before court with Sergeant Awarf, who is said to have secretly recorded the meetings of the coup plotters being used as the State’s star witness.

Incidentally, Awarf has turned out to be a witness with serious credibility issues with discoveries including the fact that he had murdered an unarmed civilian at Nsakina in 2020 and is standing trial for it.

Sergeant Awarf has also been discovered to have enlisted into the army with a fake certificate from the Bechem Technical Institute and had lied under oath about his educational background and the fact that he is still under trial for murder.

It also emerged that the State’s star witness at a point changed his name, apparently in an attempt to cover up his dubious activities to steal into the Ghana Army.

Experts have said that given the level of credibility issues uncovered about the star witness, the court should be taking his testimony with a pinch of salt or downright to dismiss him.

This is because the discoveries about him cast doubts on the credibility of the recordings that the State is mainly relying on as prosecutorial evidence against the supposed coup plotters.

It is actually believed that Sergeant Awarf, acting under the instruction of his superior, Chief of Defense Staff, General Headquarters, Maj. Gen. Andoh, had deliberately set Dr. MacPalm and the other accused persons and recorded them.

Indeed Defense lawyers have been pointing out that in the videos shown so far in court, none of the accused persons have been heard mentioning a coup plot in it.
