WAEC Security Arrest Kingpin Of Exam Paper Leakage Syndicate

Security operatives of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) reportedly picked up a cyber rogue squad linked to websites that leak WASSCE question papers to the public.

Godfred Darko alias Mr. Phresh is said to be the kingpin of a rogue WhatsApp group called Jerusalema and was said to be involved in the leakage of papers for the currently ongoing WASSCE examinations.

He was reportedly arrested at Kasoa in the Central region and has since been handed over to the Police.

WAEC’s security operatives are said to also be on the heels of other members of the Jerusalema WhatApp group including one Marcus, one Gyima Motive, Marshall and Sir Eben.

The State-owned Daily Graphic reports that the WAEC security in collaboration with the national security has been deployed throughout the country to fish out those involved in those unpatriotic acts.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Police in Kadjebi arrested two teachers at the Ahamanso Islamic Senior High School for attempting to leak an examination paper for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The two, Musah Mohammed, 33, a Mathematics teacher, and Felix Ocloo, aged 32, an English Language teacher were later put before the Kadjebi District Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

They had attempted to leak the English paper 2, on Wednesday.

Musah Mohammed pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to 65 penalty units, in default serve three months in prison with hard labour. Ocloo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and is scheduled to reappear on the 11th of October 2021 for his case to be heard

Meanwhile, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) had to rescheduled Physics 2 and 1 and Business Management 2 and 1 papers in the ongoing examination, apparently due to the leakages.

The Council did not officially assign reasons for the rescheduling of the papers. However, reports indicate that parts of the questions for Mathematics (Elective) 2 and Section ‘A’ English Language 2 were circulated on some social media platforms.”
