WhatsApp News can reveal for the firm time, that Mr. Edward Kweku Asomani , the man trusted by the President to coordinate Ghana’s national security is a British citizen, who has sworn an oath to be loyal to his majesty the King of England.
The situation has led to serious concerns that Ghana finds itself very vulnerable espionage from the British Government’s dreaded MI5/6. Similar concerns questions have also arisen about where Ghana’s National Security Capo’s Loyalty stands.
The discovery that Asomani, 44, has dual nationality has raised serious concerns about his allegiance and the possible of compromise of the secretive national security of Ghana.
Ghana’s laws prohibit individuals with foreign nationalities from occupying high-security roles. Sources from UK officials suggest that Asomani, appointed by President Akufo-Addo in August 2022, may have been working as a double agent with loyalty to both UK government and Ghana.
Others, are pointing to the fact that if the law forbids a Member of Ghana’s Parliament, a less sensitive position from holding dual nor foreign nationality, then a national security coordinator holding a foreign nationality is unconscionable.
In July 2012, Ghanaian MP, Adamu Sakande, then member of Parliament for Bawku Central was sentenced to a two year jail term by High Court judge, Justice Charles Quist for false declaration of nationality. Jomoro MP, Doarcas Toffee was recently over allegations of holding Dual Nationality.

The Security and Intelligence Services Act outlines the duties of the National Security Coordinator, which include coordinating Security Council activities, evaluating intelligence reports, and overseeing intelligence agency manpower levels.
Concerns have been raised that Asomani could have engaged in espionage activities while in this critical position. Additionally, reports have surfaced alleging inappropriate relationships and infidelity with staff members, further adding to the controversy surrounding Asomani’s leadership.
