Duncan-Williams and Anaba Resign from National Cathedral Board, Citing Lack of Audit

The Founder and General Overseer of United Denominations of Action Chapel Churches
Worldwide, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, and the President of Eastwood Anaba
Ministries, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, have both resigned from the Board of Trustees responsible
for overseeing the construction of the National Cathedral.

In a joint statement issued by Archbishop Duncan-Williams and Rev. Anaba, they explained
that their decision to step down is directly tied to the governments failure to appoint an
independent accounting firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of all public funds contributed
towards the National Cathedral project.

Back on January 23, the two clergymen had called for an immediate suspension of the
project, stressing the need for a financial audit given the controversies surrounding it.
Their primary aim was to foster transparency and accountability to serve the Ghanaian
people better. In a memorandum addressed to the Board of Trustees, they insisted on an
independent audit to scrutinise project expenditures.

They expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in addressing their requests, leading
them to resign from their positions on the project board.

As a matter of conscience and faith, we regretfully announce our resignation from the
Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, the statement read.
We want to assure you—just as we assured the Board of Trustees in January 2023—that our
decision does not question the vision or purpose of the National Cathedral. Instead, it aims to
ensure that the project moves forward with integrity, efficiency, and quality while
maintaining the trust and support of the public.
