NPP Orders Former Executives To return Party Assets

The National ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given all former executives of the party, a one-week ultimatum to return party vehicles and all assets in their possession to the party.

A memo dated August 2, 2022, signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the demand is a decision taken at the National Steering Committee meeting of the party after it came to attention that many new executives are bereft of working facilities, especially vehicles.

The unavailability of these assets has rendered the newly elected executives of the Party handicapped in the performance of their duties, which development is adversely impacting the conduct of party activities.”

According to the General Secretary, for successful retrieval of the assets, the newly elected Regional Executives will be in charge of recoveries from former constituency executives while the National Treasurer will supervise the regional level.

Justin Koduah pointed out that keeping party assets by former executives is against the norm.

“As has been the norm, executives are permitted to use assets of the party but cannot assume ownership of the same upon leaving office. In the light of the foregoing, the party is by this notice, giving a one-week ultimatum to all such former executives to comply with this directive,” he fired.

This was Kodua’s first major action since he unseated John Boadu as the ruling party’s General Secretary.
