NDC Cadres Call For Boycott Of Obnoxious E-Levy Until Akufo-Addo Accounts For Wasted Billions

The Gallant Cadres of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are calling for a boycott of the Electronic Transfer Levy (e-levy) as an act of civil disobedience by Ghanaians.

In a statement released by the Cadres, this civil disobedience should continue until Akufo-Addo addresses the nation and explain exactly how the several billion that the government has received so far was spent.

“Schools on the verge of closure due to late and inadequate release of funds for food and other relevant supplies meant for smooth administrative running. This development poses a threat to Free SHS and the School Feeding progamme. Where is the money?” the statement which is signed by Convener, Comrade Richard E A Sarpong, alias Father Casford, said.

“Gallant Cadres of NDC think Akufo Addo must address the Nation…Until then Ghanaians must avoid MoMo and other electronic transactions that will give Akufo more money through E-Levy to waste on his Cathedral etc,” urged the statement is co-signed by Secretary, Mr F Kadan, and Chairman, Mr. P Buckman.

It is estimated that over Ghc500billion has accrued to the Akufo-Addo government since it took office in 2017.

However, Ghana is currently seized by a debt conundrum due to investors refusing to lend any more money to the country due to fears the government cannot pay back.

The Cadres point out that Mr. Akufo-Addo had wasted billions on frivolities like bootie-calls in the Serwa Broni lesbian bonking affair; bribery of Dome Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Sarfo from self-imposed exile; the renting of expensive private jets for his nestling pleasure and other wanton misappropriation of public funds.
