Akufo-Addo Has Failed Himself …Justice Duose

Retired Appeals Court judge, Justice Isaac Duose, has assessed President Akufo-Addo as an abysmal failure in office.

In an interview on Accra-based Class FM, Justice Duose said the man has failed miserably by the standards that Akufo-Addo himself set for himself.

“If you want to measure Akufo-Addo’s performance by the yardstick he himself has created, he has performed very badly,” he said adding, “If I see him, I will tell him: ‘Kweku, you haven’t done well,” he charged.

The Akufo-Addo government has become significantly unpopular particularly due to the serious hardships and escalating prices brought on by a debt conundrum the government had driven the country into.

There is also serious corruption, abuse of power and moral degradation, amidst which Akufo-Addo’s sex scandals had popped up.

A more serious allegation against President Akufo Addo making the rounds recently are reports that some years ago, he defiled a 14-year-old girl, impregnated her, bought her a house for the family of the girl to shush her up, but has since abandoned his fatherly responsibility towards his alleged illegitimate daughter from the pregnancy from the defilement.

Amidst the mess, the government has been trying to clutch at straws, blaming all its problems on COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, something that has annoyed the Russian Embassy into releasing a statement telling the government to stop using their country as an excuse and fail the reality that they have messed up.

According to Justice Duose, Akufo-Addo set himself up for failure with too many grandiloquent promises when he was in opposition and lusting after power.

“Akufo-Addo is the cause of his own problem; he made too many promises, probably not knowing how he was going to fulfil those promises. Ghana is a big country and our resources are very small, so, if you go about opening your mouth too big, you are bound to be measured by the yardstick you have created,” the retired judge said.
