Surge in Thunderstorm Of Asthma, Rubella and Measles In Ghana

-Amidst Disturbing Revelation Of Pfizer Vaccine Side Effects.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the University of Ghana’s Health Services department are reporting a disturbing surge in cases of asthma measles and Rubella in Ghana.

In a release to the public, the GHS says sudden severe acute respiratory episodes in the Ashanti Region is reaching an epidemic level.

“On the 18th of March 2022, several districts notified the regional health directorate of the sudden increase in SARI cases at health facilities. The patients presented with cough with difficulty in breathing and improved on the administration of nebulized bronchodilators and conventional treatment for acute asthma,” the GHS stated.

“A team was immediately constituted to conduct a field investigation and take samples for laboratory testing. The clinical characteristics, field and laboratory investigations findings support Epidemic Thunderstorm Asthma.”

The University Health Services (UHS) is also warning students and staff to be wary of the outbreak, asking “students and staff will be on the lookout for possible cases and refer them immediately to the hospital for appropriate care and management.”

The reason for these outbreaks is unclear, but coming close in the heels of a mass vaccination exercise with the experimental COVID-19 vaccines in Ghana, including the Pfizer vaccine candidates, critics are raising suspicions about a possible link in long-term side effects of the vaccines beginning to pop up.

Recently, Pfizer was forced by a United States (US) court to release all the documents related to its vaccine development and studies, after Pfizer had failed to convince the court that it can only release the full documents after 55 years.

The court would not have it and has asked the vaccine manufacturer to released all the documents by the close of this year.

The few documents being released are extremely damning. One of such documents which Whatsup News is in possession of contained thousands of potential short and long-term adverse effects and side effects to the vaccine.

The list of side effects alone fills up more than nine pages of small font-sized text. In the document, on Page 31 upwards, measles, asthma and blood and lymphatic disorder disease like Rubella were clearly mentioned as side effects of the Pfizer vaccine.

About 4 million Pfizer vaccine doses were delivered to Ghana “ free-of-charge” last year, and at least 1.5 million Ghanaians may have received their full two-dose regime of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, the GHS is had recorded sporadic cases of Asthma which were recorded from March 10, 2022, rising suddenly to 60 cases on the 17th of March and to a peak of 166 cases on the 18th. The case count dropped sharply to 21 on 19th March and four as of March 22, 2022.

The Majority (63%) of the cases were females and more than 80% had a past medical history of asthma or chronic obstructive airway disease or cardiac disease.

Approximately two-thirds were between ages 20 and 49 years. Most of the cases were discharged within 24 hours and Samples taken for laboratory investigations at KCCR have tested negative for COVID-19 and Influenza.

The GHS is suspecting that the outbreak is akin to Epidemic Asthma. “The clinical characteristics, field and laboratory investigations findings support Epidemic Thunderstorm Asthma…” the GHS said.

An epidemic thunderstorm happens When a large number of people develop asthma symptoms over a short period of time, caused by high amounts of grass pollen and a certain type of thunderstorm.

Epidemic thunderstorm asthma events are thought to be triggered by a unique combination of high grass pollen levels and a certain type of thunderstorm.
