Mahama Would Win A Landslide Against Alan/Bawumia Ticket In 2024 …Poll

An online poll for the 2024 presidential election conducted by private market research, Global Info Analytics, is reporting a very high approval rating for former President John Mahama in respect of both the 2024 presidential primary of his party, NDC and the 2024 presidential election.

According to the poll, the former President would easily route his most likely contestant in the NDC’s presidential primary, Dr., Kwabena Dufuor, by a margin of more than 60% and also beat both Vice President Bawumia and Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, in the Presidential election, if any of the two were elected as flagbearer by the NPP.

Also, even if Vice President Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanten were to team up on the NPP ticket, a repeat of the Mahama/Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang ticket would easily beat the NPP’s offering, according to the poll by Global Info Analytics.

As presented by Mr. Musa K Dankwah, Executive Director, the poll was an open online one and had attracted a sample size of 500 people from across social media.

Mr. Dankwah tells Whatsup News that they are following up the online one with a field one which will be ready in two weeks.

In the online poll which was compiled on 14th January 2022, participants were asked to choose who they would vote for in both the 2024 presidential primaries for NDC and the NPP and also, the presidential election itself.

27.34% of all participants said they would vote for an NPP presidential ticket that would feature Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as Flagbearer with Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanten as Running Mate.

Some 69.78% said they would vote for a repeat ticket featuring former President Mahama as Flagbearer and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku as Running Mate.

In a head-to-head scenario where Vice President Bawumia is elected Flagbearer for NPP and John Mahama is elected for NDC, 74.72% said they would vote for John Mahama while 25.28% said they would vote for Bawumia.

Within the NPP, 76% of participants said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia while 24% said they would vote for John Mahama. But within the NDC, 100% said they would vote for John Mahama while 0% said they would vote for Bawumia.

About 17% of floating voters said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia while 83% of floating voters said they would vote for John Mahama as well, according to the poll.

In respect of those who neither identified as voters nor floating voters, 67% say they would vote for Dr. Bawumia while 50% said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia according to the poll.

The poll also gauged ethnic sentiments reporting that 36% Ashantis, 45% Guans, 21% Ga Dangmes, 3% Ewe, 22% Mole Dagbani, and 20% of other tribes said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia.

For former President Mahama, 64% Ashantis, 55% Guans, 79% Ga Dangmes, 97% Ewe, 78% Mole-Dagabani, and 80% of other tribes said they would vote for him.

For religious voters, 28% Christians, 18% Muslims, 22% Traditional African religious people, and 60% atheists said they would vote for Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election if he is elected Flagbearer by the NPP.

In the same light, President John Mahama’s approval rating among this demography shows that 72% Christians, 82% Muslims, 78% Traditional African and 40% atheists indicated they would vote for him in 2024.
