Onion Sellers Praise Akufo-Addo For Relocation To Adjen Kotoku

Members of the Onion Sellers Association have praised President Akufo-Addo for the decision to relocate the onion market from Agbogbloshie to Adjen Kotoku.

The President received the butter-up when he stopped over at the market as part of his tour of the Greater Accra Region.

It would be recalled that the onion sellers had angrily resisted moves to relocate their market from Agbogbloshie amidst fears that it would translate into poor sales.

But Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, had stood his ground and seen through the relocation as part of his plan to make Accra great again.

Hon. Henry Quartey would later even reveal some of the onion sellers had taken him to a voodoo witchdoctor to kill him.

However, contrary to their fears, the market has been seeing a lot of trading and customer visitation according to the sellers. Their Spokesperson, Osman Mohammed Seil, told President Akufo-Addo that the Adjen Kotoku Onion Market has the potential of becoming the number one Onion market in West Africa.

“We were told to leave Sodom and Gomorrah to Jeddah, today we have moved, seen and realized that this place is indeed Jeddah. We are earning way more than we used to get at our former place”, the Spokesperson added.

He however prayed government to expedite action on the completion of the few remaining stalls and the provision of more sanitary amenities the market will come into its own.
