16 Pissed Assembly Members Invoke Curses Over Assin South DCE

Sixteen (16) members of the Assin South District Assembly have resorted to otherworldly means to seek justice over their disenfranchisement in the vote to confirm President Akufo-Addo’s nominee for District Chief Executive.

They have invoked curses on the newly elected DCE, Felicia Amissah Ntrakwa, the Assembly’s Coordinating Director, Regional Minister, Police, and soldiers who disallowed them from entering the voting venue to cast their votes.

Items for the invocation included a crate of eggs, bottles of Schnapps and a sheep which they slaughtered.

According to the aggrieved Assembly members, they want the spirits to deal bitterly with all those who conspired to ensure that they could not cast their votes, making it possible for the confirmation of Madam Ntrakwa.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, Felicia Ntrakwa had been confirmed by a 100% vote landslide in a second vote after she had initially failed to win two-thirds of the total of 36 votes for confirmation.

After failing to obtain the required two-thirds of the total vote cast, the Assin South DCE election was postponed.

However, on the new voting day, the venue and time were changed without notice to some particular Assembly members according to the aggrieved Assembly Members.

Consequently, 16 Assembly members were not allowed to vote. The few Assembly members who voted have confirmed Mrs. Felicia Amissah Ntrakwa as the new DCE for Assin South with 100%.

The disenfranchised assembly members say when they eventually managed to locate the voting venue and rushed there, the police and soldiers who had been deployed there prevented them from entering the election room.

They invoked curses with 1 crate of eggs, Sheep, 5 Schnapps on Central Regional Minister, Ms. Marygold Assan, Central Regional NPP Chairman, Mr. Robert Kutin, the Electoral Commission, the police and the soldiers for allegedly masterminding their disenfranchisement

Meanwhile, the Presiding Member of the Assin South District Assembly said they notified all the Assembly members of the changes in time and venues of the election but the 16 Assembly members were late that was why they prevented them from voting.
