Pictures emerging from the delegation of President Akufo Addo to the 76th UN General Assembly in the United States shows a dangerously puffy-faced Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta
Shocked critics who had seen the pictures were in disbelief that it was really Mr. Ofori-Atta, as his face looked twice its original size and looking totally unrecognizable.
In fact, an argument had ensued on social media with some who have seen the pictures betting that it was photoshopped, but Whatsup News has seen different versions of photographs taken of the Finance Minister in the US currently, and he looks different.
He was looking radically different from his recent public appearance when he delivered the mid-year budget statement.
In his characteristic white robe, his cheeks had ballooned to twice their original size and his eyes were almost covered in flaps of extra flesh added to his face.
A few months ago, Mr. Ofori-Atta who has been in the thick of many corruption scandals in the past few years, had been flown hurriedly to the US for treatment.
Official correspondence from the government claimed he had suffered complications from his COVID-19 infection. Some rumours immediately started circulating that he had given up the ghost.
However, much to the surprise of the speculators, he returned after a few weeks of convalescence in the US.
He had since stayed low profile until the mid-year budget and now that his scary-looking pictures are emerging.
It is unclear if the embattled minister is suffering any serious health conditions, but medical experts who have seen the photographs think that kind of sudden weight gain on his face is not normal and could be a sign of possible serious underlying health conditions bothering the Finance Minister.
