Ghanaian Jihadist Suicide Bomber Calls For Attacks In Ghana

A Ghanaian Jihadist with Islamic Terror group, Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin, (JNIM) has called for terror attacks in Ghana.

Abu Dujana, A Fulani Ghanaian has been unveiled by JNIM as the suicide bomber who carried out the 21st June 2021, attack against Barkhane forces near the central Malian town of Gossi.

In a martyrdom speech, Dujana among other things urged his kinsmen in the Karaga area of the Northern Region to rise up against recent acts of communal violence against them.

A 13:25-minute long video of the Ghanaian suicide bomber captures him armed with a gun, wearing a military vest, hooded and reading a statement.

The video has since raised concerns in Ghana and is sure to jolt National Security into terror alert.

JNIM is a militant jihadist organisation in the Maghreb and West Africa formed by the merger of Ansar Dine, the Macina Liberation Front, Al-Mourabitoun and the Saharan branch of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. It is the official branch of Al-Qaeda in Mali, after its leaders swore allegiance to Ayman al-Zawahiri. 

It was outdoored on 2nd March 2017, when Iyad Ag Ghaly, Al Murabitoun’s deputy leader, Hassan Al Ansari, Yahya Abu Hammam, Amadou Kouffa, and Abu Abderaham al-Sanhaji appeared in a video declaring its creation and swearing their allegiance to al-Qaeda Emir Ayman al-Zawahiri, AQIM’s Emir, Abdelmalek Droukdel, and Taliban Emir, Hibatullah Akhundzada. 

They also praised former al-Qaeda leaders Osama Bin Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

On 16 March, Abdelmalek Droukdel released an audio message, approving the union between the groups. On 19 March, Al-Qaeda issued a statement approving the new group and accepting their oath of allegiance
