A 56-year-old man, Samuel Kwadwo Fordjour, has reportedly been burnt to death in a fire that gutted a building in Asafo in the Ashanti Region.
Fordjour was said to have been trapped when the fire engulfed his room on the storey building.
According to reports, he had been heard crying for help from his room as the inferno closed in on him.
However, personnel from the Ghana Fire Service arrived two hours after the fire had started.
According to reports, the fire is suspected to have started in the room of the victim and spread to the rest of the building. Nine other tenants are said to have been displaced by the fire.
The Ghana Fire Service has since begun investigations into the cause of the fire.
