Regional Maritime University Lecturer In Court For Alleged GH¢ 66,000.00 Fraud - WhatsUp News

Regional Maritime University Lecturer In Court For Alleged GH¢ 66,000.00 Fraud

A Lecturer of the Regional Maritime University at Nungua, Dr. Richard Fiadomor, has been hauled before the Circuit Court ‘B’ in Tema for allegedly defrauding a civil engineer of GH¢ 66,000.00

The complainant in the case, Mr. Stephen Attipoe, told the Police that Dr. Fiadomor had taken the money from him under the pretext of using it to clear cars at the Tema Port and promising to repay after he had cleared the fleet.

However, after receiving the money, Dr. Fiadomor resorted to false promises when the time came for him to repay the money.

Allegedly, he had promised among other things to use his providence fund worth GH¢37,000 to repay part of the money he had borrowed from Mr. Attipoe, but later took the money without repaying his debt.

Mr. Attipoe, therefore, lodged a fraud complaint against him with the Police at Tema Community Two (2).

In addition to being a Lecturer with the Regional Maritime University, Dr. Fiadomor is also a former Presiding Member of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).

He is also a former constituency secretary of the National Democratic Congress in Tema West.

Upon his arraignment before the Tema Circuit Court ‘B’, he was admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢70,000.00 with two sureties.

The case has since been adjourned to the 18th of June, 2021.
