NDC Gets A Nationalists Movement

A new movement linked to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) called the Nationalists Movement has been outdoored.

The Convener of the group, Papa Kwasi Akwetey, who signed the first release from the movement said the movement “…exist to spearhead advocacy aimed at transforming Ghana from a middle-income country to a developed country within a record time. To achieve this purpose, and consistent with the nature of the business which our organization is authorized by The Companies ACT 2019 (ACT 992) to carry out, Nationalists’ work is focused on: advocating for political activism to hold political leaders to account.”

According to him, beyond the group’s advocacy, they would be engineering a pragmatic project to aid the NDC to win the 2024 election.

“We are putting in the effort to aid the NDC to win the 2024 Election, not only because we hold the view that the development needs of our country at this material time will be best served by an NDC government; we are doing so mainly because the current Electoral Commission Chairperson has consistently demonstrated bias against the NDC and hence, rendered the electoral playing field uneven,” the Convenor of the group explained.

For the Election 2024 NDC victory project, he says that the movement is mobilizing like-minded Ghanaians, seeing to their welfare and offering them training to deliver a significant increase in NDC’s votes and proficient polling agents.

“In furtherance of the above, and on this historic day, June 4th, 2021, exactly 42 years since our nation experienced an uprising which stemmed from corruption-ladden governance, lack of discipline and frustration among the general public, we call on all Ghanaians who share in our aspiration of seeing Ghana leapfrogged into a develop country within a record time and who subscribe to the agenda to secure an NDC win in the 2024 Election, to join us…,” the group made a call to action.
