The Matrimonial Division of the Accra High Court has officially sanctioned the divorce case of Eugene Arhin, President Akufo Addo’s Press Secretary whose wife accused him of infidelity.
In the divorce settlement, Gloria Assan would be getting GHC100,000, custody of their children, some GHC 3,600 monthly in child support, three cars from his fleet of luxury cars and a 5-bedroom house owned by the couple at Kpone Katamanso.
The court presided over by Justice Cecilia Don Chebe Agbeyey said Gloria Arhin failed to provide needed evidence to nail her husband for the accusation of infidelity levelled against him.
Earlier this year, the marriage of Eugene Arhin came crashing when his wife accused him of sleeping with the notorious “Slay Queen” Chantel Kudjawu also known as Getrude Gbajo.
According to Mrs. Arhin, her husband had tormented her emotionally and physically and had not even hidden his adulterous affair with Chantel Kudjawu.
Ms. Kudjawu is believed to be a prowling slay queen at the corridors of the Jubilee House, with reports that she is particularly close to President Akufo Addo. She is also linked to an amorous affair with National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah.
She recently humiliated the National Security Minister when a recording of the half-naked Ken Dapaah hit social media. In the viral video, she was seen manipulating the aging love-struck Kan-Dapaah to model in his pyjamas for her.
In February 2021, Gloria Arhin caused a public stir when, in her resolve to file for divorce, she exposed her husband for acquiring multiple mansions and luxury vehicles within the space of four years serving as President Akufo Addo’s press secretary.
She said Eugene Arhin, a former employee at the Danquah Institute was completely broke prior to the governing New Patriotic Party winning power in 2016. And quickly, he had amassed an incredible amount of properties that she had helped him acquire.
She was seeking a split of those properties in what resulted in a war of words between the two.
Civil Society groups started questioning the source of such sudden wealth, particularly given the damning reputation of the Akufo Addo administration as being one of the most corrupt in Ghana’s political history.
Policy think-tank, ASEPA had threatened to drag Mr. Arhin to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) over his mercurial rise from rags to riches just from being a Presidential spokesperson.
It is unclear the status of the said threat to drag Eugene Arhin to CHRAJ.
