The controversial billionaire couple, Bill and Melinda Gates say they are getting divorced after 27 years of marriage, in an explosive revelation.
The two claim they can “no longer believe we can grow together as a couple”.
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” the pair wrote on Twitter.
“Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” they wrote.
The 65-year-old Microsoft founder and his 56-year-old wife announced the split on Twitter in what is regarded by critics as an attempt to solicit public emotions after their names become synonymous with the controversies surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent multi-billion dollar vaccine development industry for the pandemic.
