Nominations have opened for interested members of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to pick up forms and file to contest for various positions of leadership of the Association.
The election committee announced the opening of nominations in a press release dated April 12, advertising the positions available for contest as five national portfolios along with regional executive positions.
The five national positions up for contest are that of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Organizing Secretary, Treasurer and Public Affairs Officer.
For the regional Chapters of the association, the positions up for contest are those of the regional Chairpersons and various other regional or branch positions.
The fees for the nomination forms for the various positions are Ghc3,000 for that of the national President, Ghc2,000 for that of the national Vice President and Ghc1000 for the General Secretary, Organizing Secretary, Treasurer and Public Affairs Officer positions.
For the regional positions, those wishing to contest for the regional Chairperson position will pay Ghc1000 for their nomination forms while those looking to contest for other positions are to pay Ghc800.
The announcement said nominations are opened from 13th April, 2021 and will close on the 27th of April 2021.
“Nomination forms may be obtained from the GJA website: www.gjaghana.org. Filing fees should be paid into the GJA’s Account at the National Investment Bank (NIB) Osu Branch, Accra,” the statement said.
