Popular broadcaster with Accra-based Power FM, Oheneba Bannie, has reportedly been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in connection with his radio commentaries on the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to reports, the man who is popularly called Oheneba has been asked to report at the Police Headquarters at 9 am tomorrow, Monday 14th December.
Oheneba is one the very few journalists who have criticized the dubious results of the 2020 presidential elections which saw President Akufo-Addo declared winner by the scandal-ridden EC boss, Jean Mensah.
The Police have also written to the General Manager of Power FM asking for Oheneba to be released for interrogation.
CID Director-General, COP. I.K Yeboah, claimed in the letter that Oheneba recorded a live video of himself on Facebook insulting and issuing threats at Nana Akufo-Addo, the disputed President-elect.
According to the letter, the video was posted on 9th December 2020 and shared on 10th December 2020.
The Power FM broadcaster has been very vociferous about the attack that the rigged election is on the democracy of Ghana. He has also been airing secrets that have allegedly been happening in the aftermath of the election, including an alleged nocturnal meeting between some Supreme Court judges and President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra, apparently in anticipation of a potential election petition from the opposition NDC.
