Thugs Take Off For Techiman South To Help Change Parliamentary Election Result

A gang of thugs believed to be from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s notorious goon squad, Invisible Forces, has reportedly been dispatched to the Techiman South Constituency where the declaration of results for the Parliamentary election is on hold.

According to information gathered by Whatsup News, the gang took off from Accra this morning, reportedly dressed in military camouflage uniforms and ready to rain terror at Techiman South collation centre.

The results for both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections from Techiman South were not declared by the Electoral Commission because of dispute. The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) had reportedly emerged victorious in both races in the constituency but the ruling NPP had disputed the results.

As part of the dispute, soldiers and Police officers who had been deployed to polling stations in the area unleashed gunfire leading to the reported killing of at least two persons and the injuring of many more.

The outstanding results from there have become the cynosure of attention because of the fact that earlier results declared at polling stations across the country gave the NDC majority Parliamentary seats of 141 out of the 275.

However, capturing Techiman South will be critical to both the NDC and the NPP on both the presidential results and the parliamentary seats.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Electoral Commission has admitted that the Presidential election results it declared, claiming President Akufo-Addo had won by over 51% of the votes was wrong.

According to a statement from the EC, the Commission’s Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensah, got her math wrong when she made that claim yesterday.

The NDC has already rejected the results and posted notice it will fight it in court.
