Popular business journalist with Accra-based Citi FM/TV, Pius Amihere Eduku, has reportedly died.
The reporter’s cause of death is not immediately known, but insiders say he had been battling an undisclosed sickness until he passed.
One of the deceased colleagues, Minna Dablu shared a screenshot of a conversation between her and Mr. Eduku on July 22, 2020, where she asked after his health and the former replied that he was “much better”.
“Oh Pius Amihere Eduku, you said you were getting better! Rest in Peace Bestie. What a way to start the week,” Ms Dablu mourned on her social media page.
On Monday morning, Ghanaian social media was flooded with news of his death with many of his colleagues, friends, and fans talking about their shock when they heard of his passing.
Friends and colleagues have been paying tribute to the young man,
“We are disheartened by the death of one of our former editors, Pius Amihere Eduku @piusblay, a young hardworking man who worked his hearts out and challenged his colleagues to do the same. Our condolences to his family,” his former employers at Accra-based Radio Universe wrote on Twitter.
Another wrote: “Such a hardworking guy. I remember his Radio Universe days soo well when we used to vibe a lot. He was destined for greatness, this is sad. RIP Pius Amihere Eduku.”
