Ghana has made an incredible record of 83 Covid-19 coronavirus disease recovery rate-one of the highest rate in the world in the first six weeks after the first patients were detected.
According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), approximately 83 people out of the 641 currently infected with the coronavirus have recovered. This recovery was registered on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
The data on recoveries is the biggest one-day rise recording of Covid-19 recoveries in Africa, Whatsup News gathered.
The 83 meant amounts to 66 more recoveries had been added to 17 recoveries the day before (April 15, 2020).
The tally is still on the low side compared to other countries that have recorded 400 cases and above. Ivory remains West Africa’s most impacted country along with Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger and Senegal.
According to the GHS “as of 14th April 2020, at 23:00HRS, a total of 50,719 persons had been tested with 641 being positive for COVID-19.”
The Greater Accra Region is still the main Covid-19 epicentres in Ghana at 514 patients. It is followed by the Ashanti Region with 53 cases and the Eastern Region with 41 cases.
The Northern region comes in third with 10 infections. The rest of the remaining Regions have less than 10 patients each.
