Ghana Gov’t Recruits Shatta Wale For The Launch of GH COVID-19 Tracker

Following a fruitful maiden edition of the virtual concert tagged, “Faith Concert”, The government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Communications, has enlisted one of Ghana’s Reggae/Ragga & Dance-hall artiste, Charles Nii-Armah Mensah, professionally known as Shatta Wale, as the headline performer at the COVID-19 Virtual Concert.

The virtual concert which is to commemorate the launch of GH COVID-19 Tracker is scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2020, 1600 CAT. The dance-hall crooner who is expected to dish out top-notch performance with the Shatta Band will be serving a host of tunes from his catalogue, including “Borjor”, “My Level”, “Only One Man”, “Akwele Take”. He will be supported by Lynx Entertainment record label signee, Kuami Eugene.

As part of efforts arrayed to combat the fast spreading of the global pandemic, Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Government of the 4th Republic of Ghana, in collaboration with a group of Technology experts will launch a computer/mobile program or software application.

The user friendly and free to download mobile software application which will be available for Android and iOS devices after its launch, is originally intended for productivity assistance which will augment the state’s efforts in the fight against the global pandemic. According to the experts, the software will trace any one who has come into contacts with persons carrying the COVID -19 virus.

However, at the launch, the experts will also train people to find their way around the App and give an insight of who can use the App.

Ghanaian Dancehall act, prior to the lockdown observed in the country, announced he would be having a free concert online for his fans to raise their spirits whiles dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. He mounted a very big stage over his pool at home, got a band to perform with and also his team was there to support him as well, the likes of Bulldog, the Militants and others. The concert which was live on youtube lasted for two hours, and was observed by his fans all over the country, amounting to over 185,000 viewers.
