Government’s ongoing exercise to fumigate all markets in the country continued at Tamale, the Northern regional capital today.
Four major markets, along with several other markets came under the blast of chlorine solution as personnel from the Local Government Ministry, the Military and sanitation company, Zoomlion, teamed up to carry out the disinfection.
The team had first assembled at the Tamale Jubilee Park in the morning for a brief prep before they were deployed into the city to carry out the fumigation.
In addition to the markets, major streets in the city were targeted. Also, the Tamale Teaching Hospital was also sprayed by the team.
The Tamale fumigation brings to three, the major regional capitals which have had their markets fumigated. The first was the national capital, Accra, which together with Tema, had their markets sprayed.
Accra had been followed by Kumasi.
