BRUATALITIES OF CITIZENS MUST END NOW

We wish to extend our warm felicitation to Ghanaians; for their compliance to the directives of the president with regards to the partial lockdown of certain areas in the Greater Accra region and Ashanti region.

Our surveillance, signposts that, this partial lockdown has been very successful therefore we will edge Ghanaians in the affected communities to continue to comply with these directives. Whiles we adhere to these directives on the partial lockdown, we wish to remind Ghanaians on the need to adhere to other safety protocols such washing our hands regularly under running water for 20 seconds, the use of hand sanitizer anytime we touch regularly used surfaces and stay home at all times to stop the spread.

Our attention has been draw to several media publication about brutalities meted out to some recalcitrant citizens and those that genuinely have one reason or the other to step out of their homes.

We condemn these inattentive actions by some securities officers and wish to draw the attention of the authorities that bee, that is, The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and The Inspector General of Police (IGP) as a matter of urgency investigates these reports and admonished all the officers involved in such an unhuman acts. This will deter other officers and also restore some confidence in the citizenry.

They are to protect lives and not to brutalize and in their handling of cases, be more diplomatic and/or professional. We edge them to enforce the law and not to take the law into their own hands.

We verge the Government to intensify education on what to do and what not to do. This will help clear any misunderstanding surrounding the partial lockdown. Again, we verge the government to properly brief these officers on a daily bases to prevent an escalation in the brutalities.

As we draw the curtains down, we wish to remind Ghanaians to be obedience and comply to its fullest level every directive issued by the government. We encourage that we stay home to stop the spread and avoid all forms of gatherings

 Thank you
