Cornavirus: Obour’s Dead Father Mixed Up With Tsatsu Tsikata

An egregious case of mistaken identity, a few days ago misled the media into misreporting that the late father of former MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kufour, aka Obour, was the father of rapper, M.anifest.

Media reports characterized the late Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, as respected lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.

The Tsiakat family has since dismissed the misreporting, saying that the lawyer is not only alive and kicking, but also hale and hearty.

The whole confusion arose when reports about the passing of Obour’s father at the Greater Accra regional hospital, attempted to mask the identity of the victim who had died of Covid-19.

The late Nana Boansi Kufuor had been described as an elderly man who was father to a popular Ghanaian musician.

It is not clear as to why, but almost immediately, reports emerged that Lawyer Tastatsu Tsikata, who is father to M.anifest had died.

The misreporting, has since been appearing as the result of an attempt by some shadowy members of ruling NPP to put a political twist to the tragedy because the late Nana Boansi Kufuor’s family are alleged to have hidden his Covid-19 status.

The alleged cover up by Obour and his family is said to have unnecessarily exposed health workers at the Greater Accra regional hospital to risk and led to a shutdown of the Hospital’s emergency unit while exposed health workers have been quarantined.

Meanwhile, as it became clear that the victim was not the father of M.anifest but the father of Obour, the foirmer MUSIGA President has been parrying accusations that he and his family unnecessarily covered up the covid 19 status of his late father who had recently returned to Ghana from the UK.

According to him, it was while they were waiting for the test results that his father’s condition worsened and eventually resulted in his death.

“Nana returned from UK on 19th March after his yearly visit to the family. Upon his return he was fine but began coughing on Sunday 22nd.

“We arranged for his blood sample to be tested and he tested positive for malaria.

“We began treatment for malaria but his condition got worse. We arranged to bring him to Accra to be tested for Covid 19 at Ridge Hospital on Wednesday. They informed us that his report will be ready on Friday but we should keep him in quarantine which we did.

“On Thursday night he had extreme difficulty with breathing so we called the Ambulance service and informed them of his condition. We told them the patient has tested for COVID 19 and awaiting his results so they should come along with appropriate apparel.

“The ambulance team took him to Ridge Hospital around 11pm on Thursday March 26. We informed the health team at Ridge of his condition and also informed them he had earlier taken a test for Covid and awaiting results.

“Late this afternoon , the Drs informed us that he is likely to be a confirmed Covid case and as such we should take steps to do a contact trace and quarantine ourselves. Sadly he passed on this evening.

“These are the true facts about my fathers demise,” Obour wrote in a statement.
