Ghana Water Company Introduces Covid-19 Billing

Public water administrator, Ghana Water Company Limited has announced a remote billing regime for all of its customers on account of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

A statement released by the company said in the new billing regime, customers will for the next few months be billed on estimated consumption based on an average of their consumption from January to March 2020.

This is to ensure that its meter readers do not have to frequent homes of customers to do the billing.

The new regime is a temporal one, it explained, saying it will return to its traditional billing regime after the Covid 19 pandemic has cleared and things have been normalized.

After the dust has settled, anomalies that arose out of the temporal billing arrangement will all be rectified, so that those who are over-billed will be paid back excess monies paid while those who are under-billed are made to pay up.
