Abuse of Power As Kofi Adah Flies Military Helicopter to Submit Personal Forms

The Minister of Aviation, Ghana Kofi Ada has raised serious eyebrows at his naked display of power-drunkenness when he grabbed a helicopter belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Tuesday and flew it all the way to the northern part of the country to file his parliamentary nomination forms.

Kofi Adah, who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central is fending off a stiff challenge from the Upper East Regional Minister Tangoba Abayage, who also has an eye on the seat.

The show of power with the military helicopter was deliberately done to cow his opponent, Whatsup News gathered.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, residents of Navrongo Central were jolted by the loud whirl of the military-class helicopter. It is unclear who in the military hierarchy released the aircraft to the Minister for his personal rounds.

The aircraft landed in a park that has already been packed with school pupils and party supporters as Mr. Adah emerged amidst an air of “powerful man”.

He has briskly whisked away in waiting four-wheelers to the ruling party’s constituency office where he simply filed his forms and headed back for Accra.

Joseph Adah, display is reminiscent of a number of incidents where appointees of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have clearly exhibited extravagant use of public resources.

The stunt to use state resources to cow his opponent is also a reflection of a brewing power play within the ruling party.
