NPP Vigilante Kingpin Bolstered with Interior Ministry Job

The Minister of National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah can finally heave a sigh of relief as the man reportedly tussling with him for his position, Bryan Acheampong has been reassigned to the Interior Ministry in a rather curious reshuffling by President Akufo Addo.
Bryan Acheampong who was a major kingpin in the brutal assault carried out against unarmed civilians during the bloody Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) by-elections late 2018, was fingered for clandestinely recruiting members of the ruling party’s vigilante group into the National Security.
A statement released by the Jubilee House today, February 13, 2020, stated that Mr. Acheampong who is currently, the Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security has been moved to the Interior Ministry as its Minister of State.
This appointment appears to have given Mr. Acheampong the impetus to once more reinforce his troops of vigilantes towards the 2020 general elections, critics have noted in a rather worrying possibility.
Already, President Akufo Addo consolidated his influence in the Armed Forces by recently appointing his Nephew-in-law Maj. Gen Thomas Oppong-Preprah and the Chief of Army Staff.
Bryan Acheampong was one of those who were directly reprimanded by the Emile Short Commission that launched an enquiry into the AWW violence. The commission’s report recommended the disbanding of Bryan Acheampong’s troops that have been secretly drafted into the National Security.
At the Interior Ministry, Mr. Acheampong will be directly involved in supervising all security forces controlling the internal security of the country, but his track record at the National Security Ministry, means has seen how much advantage he took of his position.
Indeed, when the marauding vigilante group of the ruling party masked as National Security operatives unleashed mayhem at AWW, the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah and several of the security hierarchy were unaware of the assignment of these men.
The vigilante group believed to be members of the feared Invisible Forces of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) were armed by Bryan Acheampong with sophisticated assault rifles which they fired sporadically at civilians at AWW, injuring dozens.
Meanwhile, the reassignment of Bryan Acheampong may have effectively given a massive reprieve to the embattled Kan-Dapaah, whose position Whatsup News gathered was being eyed by Bryan Acheampong.
Whatsup New is reliably informed that the circumstance leading to the leaking of Mr. Kan-Dapaah’s near-naked “Sexting” video is not unrelated to the fact that some people at the corridors of power gunning for his job may have convinced his mistress-Selassie Gertrude Bedzo, to set him up.
Mr. Kan-Dapaah’s weakness for beautiful and powerful women was exposed recently when Ms Bedzo reportedly leaked a video of him engaged in a raunchy sex talk with his mistress.
Insiders say, there has been a relentless dog fight between him, Bryan Acheampong and the National Security Coordinator, Joshua Kyeremeh.
