Ghanaian highlife crooner, Kofi Boakye Yiadom, has died suddenly today after performing at a concert in Cape Coast, the Central regional capital.
The man who goes by the stage name ‘Kofi B’ is said to have suddenly fallen ill in the lead up to the tragedy which happened at 3 am today.
In what appears to be a case of cardiac arrest, he is said to have started complaining of chest pains and abnormal palpitation immediately after dismounting the stage he had performed on.
Kofi Nti, fellow musician and long time friend recounts that he was rushed to a hospital in the Central regional capital but had been restless and puking, amidst difficulty inbreathing by the time he reached doctors. As part of an emergency response doctors are said to have put him under oxygen.
His blood pressure was also said to been very high at 150/120. In spite of the best efforts by doctors, the “Mmoborowa” singer is said to have died at 3 am today.
Kofi B is also known for the hit song, Bantama Kofi Boakye.’
