Reshuffle Scare Hits Akufo Addo Appointees

A massive reshuffling is reportedly finally being brewed at the Presidency after President Akufo Addo has been inundated by serious criticisms over how he has refused to ax some of his incompetent appointees.

Insider information picked up by Whatsup News shows that first on the list to be booted out is Albert Kan Dapaah Minister for National Security, who has been fingered for nursing a presidential ambition and reportedly undermining President Akufo Addo.

Others to be asked, according to unconfirmed signals picked from the Presidency includes, Ambrose Dery Minister for Interior, Atta Akyea Minister for Housing, Kofi Adda Minister for Aviation, Issac Asiamah Minister for Youth and Sports, Gloria Akuffo-Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Professor Frimpong Boateng Minister for Science and Technology, Salifu Saeed-Northern Regional Minister and Ishmael Ashitey-Greater Accra Regional Minister.

The reshuffle is speculated to bring in some fresh faces such as Dr. Kwame Addo Kufour who may bag the National Security Minister position. The National Security Adviser to the President is likely to go to Lt General JB Danquah (rtd); Lawyer Phillip Addison is likely to surface as the Deputy Chief of Staff to replace one of the current deputy chiefs of staff, Asenso Boakye who is lacing his boots to go contest the Bantama Parliamentary seat.

Former Aviation Minister Cecelia Dapaah is reportedly making a comeback in the President Akufo Addo’s first major musical chairs in his government to take up her former portfolio as the Aviation Minister as Joseph Kofi Adda exits to an unknown destination.

Some further appointments include Alexander Afenyo Markin who is likely to come into government as the Minister for Water and Sanitation. Vincent Odotei Sowah is likely to become Minister for Sports; the stressed Dr. Matthew Poku Prempeh who has battled immense pressure offered by the erratic educational policy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government my possibly be shifted to the Interior Ministry as the minister.

Ato Panford will reportedly become Minister for Housing as he replaces Atta Akyeah. Dr. Okoe Boye is to take over as Greater Accra Regional Minister.

The Minister of Business Development, Ibrahim Awal Mohammed is likely to head a new Ministry of Youth, Business Development and Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Ben Asante Chief Executive of Ghana Gas is also to be reassigned to the Ministry of Energy as an Adviser to the Minister of Energy with Immediate effect until a substantive chief executive is appointed.

In the new reshuffle, the jobs of 13 chief executives of public institutions and 22 District Chief Executives are on the line in the coming weeks when the new face of the administration is outdoored.

According to reliable sources, President Akufo Addo had planned a reshuffle a long time ago, but for whatever reasons, the Chief of staff Madam Frema Opare, Executive Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo, Deputy Chief of Staff’s Francis Asenso Boakye and Abu Jinapor have impressed on the President to delay reshuffling his administration.

Finally, reports picked up by Whatsup News shows that Boakye Agyarko, the former Minister for Energy and Petroleum who was sacked under questionable circumstances, may be making a return. His new portfolio is undisclosed.
