Asawase NDC Burns

Flames and minor scuttle has sent terror through the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC)’s Asawase Constituency  as aggrieved supporters of a disqualified parliamentary cause mayhem near the Ashanti Regional office of the NDC in protest of the disqualification.

The group who are reportedly supporters of the disqualified candidate Massawudu Mubarick, today burned car tires, blocked entry and to the regional office, Whatsup News gathered.

Eye witnesses say smoke from the mayhem outside engulfed the NDC regional office, forcing workers to rush out.

The angry supporters are convinced that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC’s last week statement disqualifying their candidate was a deliberate attempt to give undue advantage to the incumbent Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka.

The statement from the FEC last Tuesday essentially made the incumbent the unopposed candidate for the constituency.

The angry protestors have vowed that they will continue their demonstration disqualification is reversed.

As at press time, the Ashanti Regional Police had stormed the scene of the mayhem to calm nerves.
