GAF Dismisses Recruitment Rumour

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed advertisements circulating on social media about a supposed upcoming recruitment into the armed forces.

The GAF described the circulating statement as fake.

In a statement, the Public Affairs Directorate cautioned that it does not advertise recruitments on social media, warning people who circulate such rumours to be careful as their actions are unlawful.

“GAF does not advertise on social media and does not engage middlemen in such exercises,” the statement read.

“Therefore the public should take heed of the education and desist from paying monies through ‘mobile money’ to unscrupulous persons who claim to be agents of GAF as such persons are fraudsters.”

The statement signed by Public Relations Director, Colonel Eric Aggrey-Quashie, said the supposed commencement of recruitment for 2020/2021 may be a bait from fraudsters who want to defraud people of their monies.
