Police Has Cleared Backlog Of Personnel Misconduct Cases…IGP

Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh, has said that the Police Administration, has for the first time in the history of the Service, dealt with all cases involving misconduct of personnel.

Consequently, the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS), which is the department in charge of investigating personnel misconduct and sanctioning sanctions, has no backlog of cases left to deal with.

Mr. Oppong Boanuh made this revelation today during the opening of a sensitization workshop on the National Anticorruption Action Plan (NACAP) in Accra.

The new clean slate, according to the Chief Constable of the Ghana Police Service, provides a fresh start for the Police that he is determined to ensure is not tainted quickly. Consequently, he has urged the public to intensify reports of the misconduct of Police personnel.

According to him, the persisting perception that the Police are the most corrupt in Ghana is unacceptable, warning that the whip will be cracked seriously against any personnel who will misconduct himself.
