President Akufo-Addo played ‘Father Christmas’ with Polling Station Executives of his party this New Year, spoiling them with a shower of cash to usher them into 2020.
WhatsUp News sources have revealed how every single Polling Station Executive in the 28,992 polling stations across the country, received the President’s package which was presented as a “token of solidarity.”
It is not clear how much each polling station executive received as the monies were stuffed in brown envelopes while there is speculation that different executives received different amounts.
The President’s special package is a follow up to Christmas presents that the Polling Station Executives had earlier received from the party itself before the yuletide, WhatsUp News has heard.
According to sources, the President is keenly aware of the importance of the polling station executives to his re-election bid and so is making sure that they are comfortably cushioned ahead of the election.
There are talks of special accounts being opened by the executives for the receipt of monthly stipends from National Security as part of the arrangements. WhatsUp News cannot however, independently verify this.
