WAR DRUMS IN NPP: Bawumia Supporter Hits Out at Ken Agyapong’s Ally

A loyalist of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken aim at one of Ken Agyapong’s followers, Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, after the latter criticized the former vice president’s recent remarks.

Dr Boakye-Danquah, a former spokesperson on governance and security, had openly questioned Dr Bawumia’s comments during the party’s ‘thank you’ tour in the Western Region. He accused Dr Bawumia of disavowing former President Akufo-Addo’s administration for political gain, particularly regarding issues like the increase in fuel prices and introduction of the electronic levy.

Responding to these criticisms, party member Eric Amoako-Twum launched a scathing attack on Dr Boakye-Danquah, questioning his credibility and loyalty. Amoako-Twum dismissed the accusations against Dr Bawumia, emphasizing the former vice president’s use of inclusive language in his statements.

During an appearance on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show, Amoako-Twum suggested that Dr Boakye-Danquah had benefited from the hard work of others within the party and questioned his engagement in party activities, such as attending demonstrations. He warned that his faction would not tolerate further attacks on Dr Bawumia, highlighting the vice president’s allegiance to former President Akufo-Addo.

Amoako-Twum concluded by asserting that Dr Bawumia’s track record and contributions to the NPP were significant, and any attempts to undermine his integrity would not be tolerated.
