West African Clergy Marks NPP Gov’t Failures

In a sharp rebuke from spiritual leaders, Nigerian Bishop Primate Ayod has characterized the Akufo-Addo administration as “satanic” and accused it of oppression, sparking a fervent debate within Ghana.

During a sermon captured in a viral video, Bishop Primate Ayod expressed his belief that divine favor has shifted away from President Akufo-Addo towards former President John Mahama, indicating a turbulent period for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Concerns over government malpractice were further highlighted by Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro, who warned of potential downfall if President Akufo-Addo does not humble himself before God.

These stark criticisms come at a time when President Akufo-Addo’s leadership is under scrutiny for alleged corruption scandals, economic instability, and declining press freedoms.

International rankings show Ghana’s press freedom index has declined significantly under Akufo-Addo’s tenure, while the economy faces challenges such as high inflation rates and a devalued currency.

The discussion surrounding the government extends to controversial projects like the unfinished national cathedral, which has drawn criticism for its cost and impact on public finances.

With ongoing debates about mismanagement of public funds and infrastructure demolition, the Akufo-Addo administration faces increasing pressure from both domestic and international observers.
