North Tongu Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has declared his intention to unveil further details regarding the purported land acquisition activities of the offspring of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Freddie Blay, surrounding the Labadi Beach Hotel Beachfront.
In a bold social media announcement, Ablakwa, who heads the anti-corruption initiative SOA Oversights, dismissed threats of legal action from Freddie Blay concerning his claims of state capture involving the Blay family within the ruling party’s ranks.
“I cannot retract the truth, Mr. Freddy Blay. Since you are getting no retraction from me, please go to court now — don’t wait for one week,” he stated.
Following the recent ‘Hands Off our Hotels Demonstration’ on Tuesday, 18th June 2024, Ablakwa hinted at forthcoming revelations exposing how the Labadi Beach Hotel relinquished control of its beachfront to the Blay siblings. Ablakwa’s disclosures, sourced from court documents related to an ongoing lawsuit by Loic Devos against the Blay brothers over alleged misappropriation of funds, have sparked controversy.
Freddie Blay refuted accusations of state capture by asserting that his children lawfully acquired beachfront property from the La Council for legitimate business activities unrelated to the hotel’s management.
Denying any wrongdoing, Blay demanded retractions and apologies from Ablakwa and media personalities who he claimed maligned his family’s reputation.
In response, Ablakwa remained resolute in his stance, affirming that his revelations were based on factual evidence and hinting at forthcoming exposés.
The escalating clash between Ablakwa and Blay sets the stage for further scrutiny into the alleged property dealings surrounding the Labadi Beach Hotel Beachfront.
