Several People In Hot Water For Flogging Teenagers’ HomeMade Sex Video

Several persons have been arrested by the Police in Wa in connection with the sex video by two teenagers and the subsequent public flogging of the girl and the boy in the video.

that the suspects including the two sub-chiefs of the Wala Traditional Council allegedly gave consent for the public flogging of the two in front of the Wa Naa’s Palace.

Some of the suspects have been identified as Sidiki Osman, 62, Bushiran Khigir, a 34-year-old mobile phone repairer and Issahaku Mahama, a 70-year-old farmer and the Doho Naa.

The Police are said to be pursuing other suspects as well.

Earlier, videos had emerged on social media capturing the public flogging of the two teenagers.

Their hands had been tied to polls while their backs were beaten with whips by a mob.

Upper West Regional Police Commander, Commissioner of Police (COP), Mr. Peter Ndekugri, is reported as saying the three suspects have been remanded for further investigations.

Mr. Ndekugri gave the assurance the suspects will be arraigned soon.

According to him, preliminary information gathered by the police is that the suspects accused the boy and girl of posting a video of their sexual intercourse on social media.

This reportedly incensed some people and led to the public flogging.

According to reports, what annoyed and incited the mob justice was that earlier, there had been a video of a young lady who had recorded herself advertising that she was available for prostitution.

The youth in the area had been unhappy about it and informed the traditional authorities leading to the consensus that people who make such videos in the future should be arrested and flogged.
