Weeks after a conspiracy of shadow-boxing for former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, his lackeys claim they had secured research findings proving that Duffuor would be the best running mate to former President John Mahama.
This is despite the speculations that Duffour was eyeing the flagbearer position.
Nobody knows when exactly the balloon burst the speculated flagbearer bid.
But as the Duffuor crowd within the NDC begin to cut themselves to size, it appears that seeking to have him partner Mahama for 2024 is still a wild aim.
This is because, in the mind of the ordinary NDC man or woman, the winsome presidential ticket that dangles in the vision is one in which Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is tucked into the background behind John Mahama.
Meanwhile, at every public function that the NDC organizes with former President Mahama as the headline personality, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is usually in tow and hosted as the party’s running mate for 2024. This is surely a hurdle that Dufour may be aware of and would possibly force him to consider his odds carefully.
