Dumsor Queen, Yvonne Nelson Calls Out Akufo-Addo’s 419 Government

Popular Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, has openly declared her utter lack of faith in the Akufo-Addo government, calling the regime out on Twitter as a scam.

In her vote of no confidence, the artiste who mounted a “Dumsor” protest against the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for incompetence, tweeted that any trust in the Akufo Addo government is a waste of time.

“Believing in this government is like believing it will snow in Ghana.”

Consequently, she advises people to invest their trust in themselves and strive to do what they can to bring changes in their circumstances rather than rely on Akufo-Addo’s untruthful government.

“I won’t be the one to change my industry, society and country… But I’m doing my best where I am,” she added.

The tweet comes amidst soaring hardships in the country and the government’s seeming cluelessness in the face of worsening economic conditions.

After Ghana’s creditworthiness was downgraded by another rating agency, President Akufo-Addo is accusing the agencies of keeping a stranglehold on his economy.

Ms. Yvonne Nelson, a respected leader in Ghana’s filmdom is known to be outspoken on national issues, having similarly held the erstwhile Mahama government to account over Ghana’s debilitating power outages derogatorily called ‘dumsor.’

When Yvonne Nelson was demonstrating against the Mahama government, the NPP in opposition had joined her and treated her like a queen. However, according to her, ever since she started criticizing the Akufo-Addo government, she has become an enemy to the NPP.
