the Metropolitan Chief Executive for Sekondi-Takoradi, Anthony K.K. Sam has reportedly died with cause of death suspected to be coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
He passed in the late hours of today, Friday, the 12th of June.
The Mayor’s passing follows his quarantine, along with his driver, after the driver tested positive for coronavirus. He was therefore in isolation until he died.
It has not been officially confirmed that cause of death was Covid-19 but suspicion is rife that the Mayor of Sekondi-Takoradi has succumbed to the dreaded pandemic which has claimed 48 lives already in Ghana.
News reports indicate that close family sources have confirmed the death.
