NPP Youth In Saboba Vow To Destroy Party Office In 3 Days

Youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Saboba constituency of the Northern Region are counting down to a bonfire on the party’s constituency office there.

They have declared that in three days time, they will burn down the  party office unless a Parliamentary aspirant, Emmanuel Kotin, who has been disqualified from running in the party’s Parliamentary primary is reinstated to the race. If this is not done, they will march down on the party office and set it on fire.

It has been one day since the ultimatum was given and so far the leadership of the party has not heeded, and so everybody is in fearful expectation of the arson, Whatsup News gathered.

Those in trepidation have their fears hinged on a fore-taste that the angry youth gave the party on Saturday. They stormed the office, vandalized its glass windows and burned tires while chanting war songs.

Leader of the group, Samuel Oyal, who later led his troops to chant, “No Kutin, No Vote,” accused Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul as the man behind the disqualification of Mr. Kotin.

“We have burnt the tyres in front of the party office because we can see that there is no fair play in NPP today. Emmanuel Kotin has been disqualified unfairly. We believe that the basic principle of any democracy is the sovereign will of the people but that is not in the NPP today. He has been disqualified without any reason. All that we know is, the disqualification is because of the personal interest of the Defense Minister,” Oyal charged.

“All that we are saying is, Emmanuel Kotin be reinstated in three days. If that is not done, the party will see mass destruction and voter apathy in Saboba on December 7, 2020,” he told journalists.

The disturbance coming from Saboba follows similar upheavals in the NPP’s Constituency offices around the country over allegations that the party’s leadership is disqualifying aspirants to protect sitting MPs.
