Cecilia Dapaah’s Luxury Trasacco Mansion

Former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who made headlines when millions in various currencies mysteriously disappeared from her Abelemkpe home, is back in the limelight.

This time, the scandal-plagued politician isn’t losing money, but rather, she’s been spotted going all out with a lavish purchase – a mansion in the prestigious Trasacco estate in Accra to maintain her high-flying lifestyle.

Curiously, the luxury European styled mansion located at Trassaco Phace III and separated by wall from a royally decorated castle of President Akufo Addo’s ubiquitous nephew, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, has been lying idle since it’s purchase several months ago, allegedly waiting for the dust to settle before the cash-mama walks takes full possession.

Reports suggest that the grand one-story mansion, costing approximately Two Million United State Dollars, ($2M) may have been acquired after the infamous incident involving house helps who allegedly made off with foreign and local currencies, ultimately leading to her resignation as a minister in 2023.

Following a legal tussle with the Office of Special Prosecutor and a court order to restore her frozen bank accounts, Dapaah reportedly took the plunge and acquired this luxurious property set in a serene environment with lush greenery and vivid flowers.

The extent of Dapaah’s occupancy in the all-white mansion remains unclear but she now joins the elite community of Trasacco estate residents, rubbing shoulders with other affluent Ghanaians who call this gated neighborhood home.

After facing a scandal that rocked the nation in 2023, resulting in her stepping down from her ministerial role, Dapaah seems to have bounced back with this high-profile purchase, causing a stir as cameras recently captured her alleged new abode.

The 2023 scandal involved her house helps allegedly pilfering cash in several currencies, including dollars, euros, and cedis, as well as personal items like expensive handbags and jewelry, substantially denting Dapaah’s reputation and career.

In her resignation statement to then President Akufo-Addo, Dapaah addressed the theft allegations, stressing her willingness to cooperate with authorities to clear her name amidst the storm of accusations.

This latest development comes amidst a backdrop of economic challenges faced by Ghana, with concerns over foreign currency hoarding and the impact on the local currency’s value, as highlighted by the government and the Bank of Ghana during this tumultuous period.
