OSP Chases NPA Chiefs in Ghc1.3bn Scandal!

…Jacob Amoah & 2 others on the Rader

Ex-National Petroleum Authority (NPA) boss Mustapha Abdul-Hamid is facing a probe over a missing £170 MILLION!  The Special Prosecutor has launched an investigation into claims of a massive loot from the NPA’s coffers.
Hamid, a top dog in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is in the hot seat alongside three others – Jacob Amoah and his alleged girl-friend, Wendy Ashong Newman, and Freda Tandoh, (all staff of the company)

They’re suspected of siphoning off a staggering Ghc1.3billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF).  This fund is supposed to keep petrol prices stable for hardworking Ghanaians.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng dropped the bombshell at a press conference on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

“The OSP has launched investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses concerning an alleged embezzlement of GH₵1.3 billion from the UPPF at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA),” he declared.
The same press conference also saw ex-Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta branded a fugitive.
Hamid was in charge at the NPA from 2021 until early 2024.  More details are expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
