Mahama Outlines Ghana’s Economic Revival in New Year Message

Ghana’s President-elect John Dramani Mahama has outlined an ambitious vision for the nation in a heartwarming new year message.

In his message, the new President assured Ghanaians of a renewed commitment to economic transformation, job creation, and national unity.

Mahama extended his wishes for a productive and prosperous year for all citizens, expressing faith in divine guidance for the country’s future.

“This year marks the beginning of a renewed promise to you—a promise of hope, progress, and shared prosperity,” Mahama stated, with plans to reset the Ghanaian economy for sustainable growth and job opportunities.

Central to his vision is the implementation of a 24-hour economy policy, aimed at transforming Ghana into an export-driven economy.

He pledged to create an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation, ensuring that young people can realize their aspirations without leaving the country.

He also assured business owners and entrepreneurs of his administration’s support in creating wealth and jobs, pledging to remove barriers and simplify processes to empower growth.

“We envision a lean, efficient government that resonates with the aspirations of every proud Ghanaian. We will correct the shortcomings of the outgoing administration, tackle corruption decisively, and reduce excessive government expenditures. Every citizen’s voice will matter as we work towards the Ghana we all aspire to—a Ghana built on hope, fairness, and collective progress.

To the youth, your energy, creativity, and determination are indispensable. Believe in your potential and in the opportunities ahead. Your participation will be central to cultivating a thriving economy and a brighter future for all,” he remarked.

The President-elect prayed for the new year (2025)to be one of progress and achievement for the entire nation.

Mahama’s call resonates with the Ghanaian population, signalling a new era of economic emancipation and renewed energy for the country’s advancement and progress in the years ahead.
