NDC Demands Probe

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly denounced the recent abduction of Madam Sylvia Patience Baah, the Emirates Airlines Airport Manager in Accra, by members identified as operatives of the National Security Secretariat and the National Investigations Bureau (NIB).

Reports indicate that on 21st November, 2024, Madam Sylvia Baah was forcibly taken from the entrance of her residence in Accra.

Blindfolded, handcuffed, and forced into an unspecified vehicle by individuals allegedly associated with the National Security and NIB, she was then transported over two hours away to an undisclosed location.

After nearly 24 hours of detention, she was left in a wooded area near Ashaiman. The abduction is reported to be linked to an altercation between Sylvia Baah and three individuals: Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB); Benjamin Ansah, Operations Director of NSB; and Rashida Saani Nasamu, described as a prominent waakye seller.

Allegedly, this incident was an act of revenge against Madam Baah for reasons related to her professional responsibilities.

The shocking incident has sparked widespread outrage, shedding light on what the NDC describes as the misuse of power within the current Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government.

The NDC decries the blatant impunity exhibited by supposed law enforcement officials and calls for swift, transparent investigations to bring all responsible parties to justice.

The NDC has urged the Inspector-General of Police to promptly conduct a thorough inquiry, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.

With just days before the upcoming elections, the NDC is campaigning for a return to power, promising to restore social justice, uphold the rule of law, and rebuild trust in law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of all Ghanaians.
